Aide or Care Manager: How to Decide What Mom Needs

September 19, 2015 by VillagePlan™ Team

What care mom needs

Most families think they just need someone to come in to fix meals for Mom, do some light housekeeping, and maybe take her to appointments and shopping.  But, do you really know that is what is happening and what is needed? That’s what Professional Care Managers are for.

Especially when these needs present themselves suddenly, Mom may need more than home care.  Maybe she had a silent stroke or hit her head during a fall, but can’t remember what caused her to feel weak.

Care Managers are good detectives and can help you discover what is really going on with Mom, so you can get her the appropriate help and/or diagnosis and treatment. After a good medical workup and some changes in diet or exercise, she might get back to her old self.

Also, if the cost of daily care isn’t affordable, the Care Manager could help you put a plan together with local day care centers, volunteer visitors, and a small amount of paid care.

Before starting home care services, have an expert evaluate the situation and give you all the options and opinions. VillagePlan™ Care Managers are non-biased, experienced, and credentialed professionals.

Call the Experts-on-Call at 888-585-7579 to get started with a no charge 30-minute consultation or schedule a home assessment.
